The Spaces in Between
…is a weekly newsletter about technology, language, and culture.
Stephan Caspar is a creative educator and filmmaker currently working in the Department of Modern Languages at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. His courses include Multicultural Pittsburgh: Exploring Language and Culture through Virtual Reality, Everyday Learning: Creating Learning Experiences in Times of Unrest and Uncertainty and Multicultural Immersion: Relating Your World in XR. These courses introduce students to digital storytelling about language and culture. Stephan draws on experience in broadcast media, learning design, and immersive technologies, with previous roles with BBC Informal Learning; as Head of Department for The Arts in Further Education, and as a Learning Technologist leading the Digital Learning Team at the University of Southampton. You can follow Stephan on Twitter @dotsandspaces.
This newsletter is a part-diary, part social commentary, and a space for reflective practice. This is an opportunity to explore ideas that might not be appropriate or developed enough for an academic journal or conference presentation. It is a raw, honest and sometimes unstructured read. Each issue is published once a week, usually on a Friday, and you can subscribe to receive it directly to your inbox.
