We're staying in a townhouse in Jamestown, home of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz. I remember reading The Mambo Kings Sing Songs of Love, the book that became a film with Antonio Banderas. Desi features as an idol for the brothers Cesar and Nestor who have left their home in Havana for New York, to share their electrifying music and stories of passion and romance.
Downstairs we have a vegetarian restaurant and beer shop (although I'm trying to be good). I will miss mornings writing and reading, sitting out on the street with the sun on my face and a steaming coffee.
Here are a few things to keep you going in the meantime.
